About Playa Sinas

The Vibe

The beach has a relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere. It is convenient for people staying in Raxo who want a quieter alternative to the larger Xiorto beach, and its modest scale suits a short swim, a morning by the water or a pause during a walk along the village coast.

Because Sinas is only a short beach, the amount of space changes quickly with the tide and the number of visitors. It can feel peaceful early in the day, then become sociable during sunny summer afternoons. The protected ria position often keeps the water visually calmer than the open Atlantic coast.

The Setting

About

Sinas is a small semiurban beach immediately east of Raxo harbour in Poio. Fine sand fills a compact section of the Ria de Pontevedra shoreline, with village buildings close behind and a wide view towards Marin and the wooded shape of Tambo Island.

The Local Anchor

Raxo harbour is the immediate anchor. Fishing boats, small leisure craft and waterfront restaurants keep the beach connected to the working life of the village. The harbour also separates Sinas from Raxo beach and Xiorto to the west.

The local road provides easy access to the rest of Poio's coast. Chancelas, Ouriceira and Combarro lie eastwards, while the beaches around Sanxenxo begin beyond Raxo in the opposite direction.

The Landscape

Sinas is about 80 metres long and lies in a semiurban setting close to the harbour. Fine sand occupies a shallow curve, with low rocks and built edges helping to define the beach.

Its landscape is dominated by the ria rather than by the small amount of sand. Marin spreads across the opposite shore, while Tambo Island adds a wooded landmark to the broader view. Passing boats and moored craft reinforce the maritime character.

At low tide the beach gains useful width and more of the rock margins appear. Higher water can make the strand noticeably smaller, so visitors should allow space above the waterline. Sinas is not a remote cove, but it offers a comfortable combination of village convenience, sheltered scenery and an immediate connection with the Ria de Pontevedra.
