About Playa Pampaido
This is a small local beach for visitors who prefer quiet scale to extensive facilities. At around 60 metres long, it suits a short swim, a peaceful morning or a pause while exploring the coast between Raxo and Areas.
The beach can feel secluded when empty, but only a few groups are needed to fill much of the available sand. Tide timing matters because the dry area becomes noticeably smaller at higher water. The ria setting often looks calm, though wind and passing craft can still affect the surface.

The Setting
Pampaido is a tiny sheltered beach on the eastern side of Sanxenxo, below the parish of Dorron and close to A Granxa. Fine sand fills a short cove facing the Ria de Pontevedra, with wooded and residential slopes rising behind the shoreline.
Dorron is the immediate local anchor. The parish extends from the coast into green inland slopes and retains a mix of village houses, old paths and agricultural land. Its church and traditional buildings give the area a quieter identity than central Sanxenxo.
A Granxa lies nearby along the coast, while Areas and the main town of Sanxenxo are farther west. Raxo and the Poio beaches begin in the opposite direction, placing Pampaido near the meeting point of two well-known coastal municipalities.
Pampaido is about 60 metres long, sheltered and formed of fine sand. Rock defines the cove, while vegetation and nearby homes create a contained backdrop.
The outlook is much broader than the beach. Across the Ria de Pontevedra, the Morrazo peninsula and the Marin coast form a layered horizon. Tambo Island lies farther east, depending on the viewing angle, and small boats regularly cross the ria.
Low tide opens more sand and reveals the rocky margins. At higher water, the cove becomes compact and visitors should keep belongings well above the shoreline. Pampaido is not designed for crowds or long beach walks. Its value lies in being a modest, sheltered corner of the ria where the surrounding coast, distant hills and changing tide provide the main interest.
