About Playa Agra
Agra is a relaxed family beach with a residential, local feel. It has room for a comfortable walk, and the water often appears calmer than at Montalvo or Major. Summer brings a sociable atmosphere, but the shore is less associated with nightlife and resort intensity than central Sanxenxo.
The beach works well for swimming when conditions suit, paddling near the shallows and watching boats move through the ria. Tide remains important, particularly near the ends where rock and intertidal ground become more visible. Visitors who prefer a settled bay to an exposed surf beach will understand its appeal quickly.

The Setting
Praia de Agra is a sheltered 260-metre beach in Areas, within the parish of Dorron on Sanxenxo's eastern coast. Fine sand, a broad curve and protection inside the Ria de Pontevedra give it a gentler character than the municipality's Atlantic-facing beaches around Noalla and A Lanzada.
The village and beach of Areas are the immediate anchor. This eastern side of Sanxenxo sits closer to Pontevedra and has a quieter pattern of homes, small hotels and wooded slopes than the dense waterfront around Silgar.
Dorron provides the parish identity, with inland lanes and traditional settlement rising behind the coast. Sanxenxo town lies west along the shore, while the ria leads east towards Combarro, Marin and Pontevedra. The location suits visitors exploring beyond the resort centre.
Agra curves across fine sand in a protected section of the Ria de Pontevedra. Trees and houses line the land behind, while low rocky margins give the beach a clear beginning and end.
The outlook is across sheltered water towards the layered southern shore of the ria. Tambo Island may be picked out farther east in clear conditions, while boats and small craft reinforce the estuary setting. Direct Atlantic swell is reduced, though local wind can still create chop.
At lower tide, the beach broadens and walking space increases. Higher water brings the shoreline nearer the back and concentrates visitors in the central section. Agra's landscape is neither wild nor heavily urban: it is a comfortable village shore where fine sand, wooded slopes and the calm scale of the ria remain in balance.
