About Playa Panadeira
The beach is convenient, sociable and distinctly urban. It suits families staying nearby, regular swimmers and visitors who want a quick beach stop without leaving the centre. Its sheltered shape often gives the water a calmer appearance than the longer Silgar beach.
Panadeira is only about 80 metres long, so the sand can become busy quickly in summer. It is best for a few relaxed hours, an early swim or a break between exploring the harbour and town. The tide changes the available space, especially around the rocky edges.

The Setting
Panadeira is a small sheltered urban beach beside the centre of Sanxenxo. Fine sand fills a compact bay east of the main marina, placing the shore within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, the old parish church and the town's waterfront streets.
Sanxenxo's old centre is the immediate anchor. The church of San Xines, narrow streets and waterfront restaurants sit close to the beach, while the modern marina and Praza do Mar are a short walk west.
The harbour connects Panadeira with the town's strong sailing identity. From here, visitors can continue along the waterfront towards Silgar and the coastal route to Portonovo, or head east towards Carabuxeira and the smaller beaches beyond the centre.
Panadeira extends for roughly 80 metres and is classed as a sheltered fine-sand beach. Buildings line the back of the bay, while low rocks and harbour structures help contain the water.
The outlook crosses the Ria de Pontevedra towards the Morrazo peninsula. Boats entering Sanxenxo harbour add movement to the view, and the marina remains visible without completely enclosing the beach.
At low tide, extra sand appears and the cove feels more spacious. Higher water brings the shoreline closer to the urban edge and concentrates visitors in the central section. Panadeira does not offer dunes or isolation, but that is not its purpose. Its strength is the direct connection between town life and the ria, allowing a beach visit to fit naturally into a day spent in central Sanxenxo.
