About Playa de Sant Pol

The Vibe

The beach is sociable and relaxed, with families, swimmers and paddle-sport users sharing a long, accessible shore. The western and central sections provide room for games and easy bathing when conditions suit, while the promenade supports a steady flow of walkers and diners.

Sant Pol is open to the sea despite the curved bay. Wind and easterly swell can produce waves, and craft channels must remain clear. Seasonal supervision and accessible facilities make the beach practical, but visitors should check current flags rather than assuming shallow water is always calm.

The Setting

About

Sant Pol is a broad sandy bay on the eastern side of Sant Feliu de Guixols, close to S'Agaro. Fine golden sand, shallow-looking water, surviving dunes and distinctive seafront villas make it one of the town's most recognisable family beaches.

The Local Anchor

The Modernista and Noucentista villas along the promenade are the defining local feature. Their turrets, porches and varied facades recall the development of Sant Pol as an elegant summer quarter.

At the eastern end, the dunes and Parc de les Dunes preserve a rare remnant of the natural sandy system. S'Agaro begins beyond the bay, while the cami de ronda links the coast with Sa Conca and other viewpoints.

The Landscape

Sant Pol forms a generous curve between rocky headlands, backed by low-rise buildings, gardens and the promenade. Fine sand and a relatively gradual shore create a softer landscape than the cliffs and pebble coves farther west.

Small rocky islets and headlands frame the view, while transparent shallows often reveal patches of sand beneath the water. The surviving dunes are sensitive and should be crossed only by designated routes.

Morning sun reaches the bay early, and the broad orientation keeps much of the beach bright through the day. Sant Pol's character comes from the unusual combination of family-friendly sand, historic villas and natural dune remnants within walking distance of Sant Feliu's town centre. The promenade remains enjoyable long after the busiest beach hours have ended.
