Playa de l'Andrago

The cove feels quiet and grown-up, with visitors coming for swimming from the rocks, underwater exploration and meals at nearby terraces. There is little conventional dry sand, so the experience suits people comfortable with firm surfaces and direct access into deeper water rather than families seeking broad shallows.

Sea conditions require careful judgement. Rock can be slippery, depth changes quickly and moderate swell may reach the cove despite its position within the larger bay. Bathing shoes, cautious entry and attention to boat movement are sensible, while jumping should be avoided unless a recognised safe point is clearly marked.

L'Andrago is a small rocky cove on the southern side of Moraira, set within the broad inlet between Punta de Moraira and Cap Blanc. Pebbles, rock platforms and transparent-looking deeper water give it a stronger snorkelling and diving character than the town's sandy beaches.

The viewpoint and restaurant terraces above L'Andrago are the immediate social anchor. From here, the outlook runs back towards Moraira's white buildings, marina and surrounding mountains, giving the cove one of the municipality's most familiar coastal panoramas.

Cap Blanc lies farther south along the rocky shore, while Les Platgetes and L'Ampolla lead back towards the town centre. This sequence makes L'Andrago a useful stopping point on a coastal exploration rather than an isolated destination with its own large service area.

The shoreline is formed by dark pebbles, pale ledges and irregular underwater rock. Low cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation frame the cove, while the water often shifts between deep blue and turquoise according to light and sea state. The small scale keeps land and water visually close.

L'Andrago's beauty comes from texture rather than softness. Rock replaces sand, deeper water begins near the edge and the view across the inlet includes both natural headlands and Moraira's built shoreline. In calm weather it is an appealing place for experienced swimmers and snorkellers; in rougher conditions, the viewpoint remains the better way to enjoy the scene.
