About Playa de Les Platgetes

The Vibe

The area feels informal and active. Families favour the sandier pocket, while swimmers and snorkellers use the rocky edges when the sea is settled. The promenade encourages short walks and makes it easy to compare the two coves before choosing a place, although limited beach space means summer mornings are preferable.

Rock changes both comfort and safety. Bathing shoes can help, and nobody should assume that clear water reveals every submerged ledge. A marked channel may be used for launching small craft, so swimmers need to remain outside operational areas and follow any seasonal instructions.

The Setting

About

Les Platgetes are two adjoining semi-urban coves south of Moraira, combining small sandy sections with rock platforms and clear-looking water. A landscaped promenade-viewpoint links the coves and gives visitors an elevated route along one of Teulada-Moraira's most varied short stretches of coast.

The Local Anchor

Moraira's centre and L'Ampolla lie a short distance north, while the coastal road continues south towards L'Andrago and Cap Blanc. Les Platgetes therefore sit on a natural walking link between the town's main sandy beach and the more rugged coves beyond.

The promenade-viewpoint is the immediate landmark. Gardens, seating and raised views turn the shoreline into more than a bathing place, allowing visitors to watch the changing colour of the water and the rocky coastal geology even when the coves themselves are busy.

The Landscape

Two small inlets alternate between golden sand, pale rock and low ledges. The coast is open enough to receive swell, yet the irregular shoreline creates pockets of calmer-looking water. Houses and the road remain close, but planting and the viewpoint soften the urban edge.

Les Platgetes show the transition from Moraira's sandy town beaches to the rocky Marina Alta coast. Their appeal lies in contrast within a compact area: one cove better suited to sitting on sand, another inviting exploration around stone, and a continuous promenade tying both together. The result is scenic and convenient without losing the texture of a natural shoreline.
