About Playa de la Platjola i el Morer
The atmosphere is quiet, compact and strongly influenced by the tide and recent weather. A small number of visitors can make each sandy pocket feel lively, while calmer mornings may offer a peaceful place to read, swim or watch trains following the coast.
These are not large, uniform beaches. Sand can narrow around rock, and the sea may reach close to the upper edge during rough conditions. Visitors should choose entry points carefully, follow flags where supervision is provided and avoid crossing slippery rocks when waves are breaking.

The Setting
La Platjola-El Morer is a combined bathing sector on the eastern side of Sant Pol de Mar. It brings together small sandy sections beneath the railway and the slopes beyond the village, creating a more intimate shoreline than the broad beaches found elsewhere on the Maresme coast.
Sant Pol de Mar rises just west of the bathing area. The village is known for steep lanes, whitewashed houses and a waterfront divided by the railway, with the church of Sant Jaume and the hilltop hermitage of Sant Pau providing strong visual anchors.
The town's fishing heritage is most visible around Les Barques, where boats were traditionally kept on the sand. Food remains part of Sant Pol's identity, with local restaurants and seasonal beach establishments making the village a worthwhile stop beyond the shoreline itself.
La Platjola and El Morer occupy a broken section of coast where sand, stone and railway structures alternate over a short distance. The slopes behind are greener and less continuously built than the central seafront, giving the eastern outlook a more natural feeling.
The coastal railway remains close and is part of the experience rather than something hidden from view. Trains pass between the beach and the higher land, while the Mediterranean opens uninterrupted in front.
Sand levels can change significantly after storms, so one part may be more usable than another on the day of a visit. The combined sector rewards flexibility: arrive prepared to walk, inspect the shore and choose the safest, most comfortable sandy section rather than expecting one continuous resort beach.
