Playa del Poblenou-la Riera

This section feels calmer than the busiest part of Platja dels Pescadors, although summer still brings a sociable holiday atmosphere and steady use throughout the day. Landscaped areas and the promenade make it easy to combine time on the sand with a walk, a meal or an easy return to nearby accommodation.

The beach offers broad, flexible areas for sunbathing and informal sport, but the open Mediterranean setting means waves and wind can change quickly. The sand is coarse and the shoreline may deepen more rapidly than visitors expect. Flags and supervised zones should guide bathing decisions.

The Poblenou-La Riera bathing sector covers two adjoining parts of Pineda de Mar's southern seafront. It links the Poblenou neighbourhood with the central promenade around the dry riera, creating a long urban beach used by families, hotel guests and local residents.

Poblenou is the immediate neighbourhood anchor, forming the southern part of Pineda close to the boundary with Calella. Shops, hotels and residential streets sit behind the coast, giving the beach a lived-in character throughout the year.

The riera marks a natural and urban break in the seafront. Although often dry, it is a drainage route during heavy rain, so visitors should give freshwater outlets space and avoid bathing close to discoloured runoff after storms.

Poblenou and La Riera form part of Pineda's long, straight sandy coast. The promenade and railway run parallel to the sea, while planted spaces add shade and greenery behind parts of the beach.

Looking north, the shoreline leads towards Pescadors and Els Pins. Southward, the beach continues towards Calella, creating a broad visual corridor with no dramatic headland between the towns.

The landscape is urban but still impressively open. Wide sky and sea dominate from the waterline, while the presence of hotels, homes and transport links makes access straightforward. This combined sector suits visitors who want a relaxed family beach close to everyday services rather than an isolated natural setting.
