Playa de la Cala Blanca

The two small inlets, commonly distinguished as Caleta I and Caleta II, feel sheltered and intimate without being remote. Visitors come for clear-looking water, rocky scenery and a quieter pause from the Arenal rather than for beach games or long rows of loungers. Space is naturally limited, so summer mornings are the best time for a calmer visit.

Entry into the sea is over stone and uneven ground. Beach shoes make the experience easier, and the rocky edges should be approached cautiously if waves are running. Snorkelling can be rewarding in suitable conditions, but visibility and safety depend on the sea state rather than the cove's enclosed appearance.

Cala Blanca is a pair of adjoining coves on Xabia's southern urban coast, formed beneath pale cliffs between the Arenal and Cap Prim. Pebbles, boulders and rock replace a broad sandy strand, creating a compact place for careful swimming and snorkelling when the Mediterranean is settled.

Cala Blanca takes its name from the whitish colour of the surrounding rock. The two coves are connected by a stone section of coastline, making the route between them part of the visit. A short seafront walk and nearby residential streets keep the area accessible while preserving a stronger natural feel at water level.

The cove belongs firmly to Xabia, not to the Les Rotes coast of Denia. The Arenal lies to the north, while the route towards the Creu del Portitxol and Cap Prim begins farther south. This position makes Cala Blanca a useful turning point between Xabia's developed bay and its more rugged headland coast.

Pale rock, rounded stones and low cliffs frame narrow areas of water. Mediterranean vegetation softens the upper edges, while houses remain visible behind the shoreline. The setting is semi-urban, yet the close relationship between cliff and sea gives it a more secluded impression from below.

There is little level sand on which to spread out. Instead, Cala Blanca offers ledges, pebble pockets and changing views through the two inlets. Its character depends on texture and colour: white rock, dark submerged stone, green vegetation and blue water compressed into a short, distinctive section of Xabia's coast.
